August 13 Life’s Blood

I had an accident today while carrying some glasses to the recycle bin. In a weird act of fate, I tripped and the two glasses in my hands collided in a loud crash. They cut into both thumbs (in the same place) and blood flowed down both hands like a river. It was very scary because it would not stop. I panicked with images of me dying running through my mind. And then a feeling of calm came over me as I thought of Christ who bled and died on the cross for my sins so that I might have eternal life. All life stems from blood and without blood, there is no life.

Today I surrender my life and will over to Jesus. I trust Him to rescue me from all the troubles in this world that deeply affect me.
