Arida “Rising Sun” Wright, President of Powerlines Healing by the Sea Ministries, lives her philosophy of self-empowerment, which for her is a lifelong mission of spirituality. She draws from her rich, cultural ancestry. As a Shinnecock Indian/Afro-American woman, Arida teaches the power of spirituality through the use of traditional ceremonies. Her personal and cultural experience has led her on a professional journey as well. She is a licensed minister through the University of Metaphysics and a Traditional Reiki Master. Currently she is a member of the Key West Poetry Guild and the Key West Writers Guild. She is a past columnist for Key West the Blue Paper and Village Voices newspaper. She also has a collection of poems in several anthologies, and her first solo title: Then Sings My Soul.
