There is no question that I learned to think negative as a child. In the process of reprogramming, I worked with Susan Cohen, a life coach who taught me that I am in control of my thoughts. She also taught me to write a daily gratitude list. When I first started this practice, I had to dig really deep to find something to be grateful for. What happens during the day is, I may have a negative encounter or thought. As I think about what I will write later that night on my gratitude list, I find myself able to find the good in the negative situation which helps reprogram those negative thoughts.
Today I am grateful for the tool of recovery which is to write a daily gratitude list. It is helping me to reprogram my negative thinking and flip each situation I encounter in a positive way.
